Nokia’s Excellent After Sales Service

I’ve been really lucky with my previous Nokia phones, the 7610 and the notorious E65. Most people who carried those phones cannot stop complaining about the usual ‘diseases’ that plagued their Nokias. Me, on the other hand, met with none of the problems that they had.
I recently bought a Nokia E66 less than 2 months ago. Honestly, it’s one of the most problematic phones I’ve got. I shall skip the rant on the diseased phone and focus on something that is more positive and worthed writing about.
It seems that there are so many troublesome Nokia phones out there that if you noticed, it is almost apparent that there are more Nokia service centres in Singapore than probably XXXXX brand.
Excellent after sales support for any product is critical, at least in my books, they make the difference between a good brand and a great one. Well anyway, it seems that most people have problems with their Nokia phones, that they’ve got to go to the service centre all the time, which totally over crowds their service centres (yes, their centres are bigger than their retail outlets.)
Thus, I believe, Nokia has upgraded their service centre service. Now I can actually make a booking online to schedule a time to get my phone checked in and diagnosed. Does it sound like my E66 is going to visit a doctor?
Amazing. Customer service at its best, well, almost. The best scenario will be that Nokia has such great phones, they do not need such top notch customer services.Oh well, at least we have one less thing about Nokia to complain to about.
Probably Nokia should consider including a ’schedule pick up’ phone service, just like Lenovo does for their (thinkpad) laptops. I like that very much. Very efficient and very convenient. There’s no need to elaborate why I am familiar with that service, do I?
(Not so) Good products with excellent after sales services still make a product great.

Probably Subscription to Kiko’s Feed is a Good Idea
I realized that pictures paint a thousand stories faster than I can ever blog in 10 minutes.
So here goes.

I got a new family member. Hebe Baby, my little goddess of youth. She’s still at with her mommy, and away from me. She’s a darling, and she melts my heart
.
And 2 hair cuts done over the last 4 months. Leaving my hair longer this time. A change is always good.
Blogging has become a challenge these days. I am glad to know that I am not the only one facing the same issue.

A Lie and Androgyny?

A sentence from my latest read ” The Neil Gaiman Reader” inspired me to do some reading and verification, and instead of 1 thought provoking discovery, now I have got 2.
I am more Buddhist/Taoist in my religious followings. Because I find myself being to accept the consistency in their messages as compared to a couple of other major religions that we are often exposed to. I am not anti any religion. So this post is not to put down anyone or any religion, it is just to spark off some thoughts in us.
Controversy 1: God created Adam and Eve, and warned them not to touch the fruit Tree of Knowledge, because if they do, as quoted in the Genesis “for in the day that you eat of it you shall die“.
The serpent enticed them to have the fruit, telling Eve that she will not die if she eats the fruit of the tree. She ate the fruit, yummy yummy, and then (shouldn’t we have noticed earlier?) that she did not die.
So who is telling the truth? So is trustworthy? Gaiman said he has never been sure.
I have referenced with my Old Testament and that is exactly what was written. And I say, as a kid, I was always told this story taught as about rebellion and the consequences. Well, why hardly anyone mentioned anything about lying? Probably that is why I do not quite agree with some of teachings. What do you say? IF possible, argue your case.
Provoking thought 2: In the gnostic christianity text, Apocalypse of Adam, Adam and Eve were originally conjoined in a single androgynous being. The cross reference to the Genesis said “according to the image of God he made them, male and female he made them”. The story in ” The Apocalypse” mentioned that Adam and Eve were created aka separated because the other angels were jealous.
Somehow it sounds like being androgynous is as inherent as femininity and masculinity, probably even preceding the social standards of gender differences in behavior and dressing.
This is not aimed to insinuate any religious debate, it is more like What do you believe now?

Soul Mates - Part 1

If you are still looking for that person who can be your other half, be it temporary or for eternity ( pardon the skepticism and pessimism), have you wondered what or who exactly is your type?
When things don’t work out the way you hope they do, do you feel sad because you feel like you just lost ‘that special person’? Seriously, how special is he or she?
And sometimes, in the midst of consoling your broken heart, your friends may just ask ” So what do you like about him/her?” aka what is your type?
Honestly, I always thought I don’t have a “type”. A type sounds so superficial. I found it hard to pin-point the criteria, furthermore, so what if I had a “type”, it doesn’t mean we will be compatible either. Seriously, we see people who break up citing reasons like “We are just too different.” “We are just too alike!”.
Until a friend mentioned that it didn’t matter who or how she is like, he just wanted a soulmate.
I thought somehow it made sense. A soulmate has no criteria, because it is based alot on chemistry, comfort level, emotional and spiritual (not in a Godly manner) connection.
So what is a soul mate? There are 2 theories to this, I am going to split this post into 2, as you know, I do not usually write long posts.
Theory 1 is soulmates have got something to do with reincarnation and it applies more to love than anything else. Theory 2 is ha nothing much to do with reincarnation, and it applies to friends as well.
Theory 1:Soul mates are simply ONE soul that has been split into 2.
The story here is that these 2 people have a powerful bond, somehow they can communicate as if they’ve known each other for a long time. And they are often very much alike and they often break up because we are not usually not able to love and accept ourselves.
Sounds familiar? This sounds like soulmates found and lost. But it sounds so easy to solve. Just love yourself, and then you will love the other.
Theory 1 also supports a term called “karma mates”. Karma mates are less intense, and they are not from the same soul. They just happen to be people that you will meet in your lifetime(s) so that you can learn lessons from them. They may be your wife, maybe your brother, etc.
Apparently, these karma-mates feel very familiar and intense when you first meet them. It feels like you have some predestined life goal together. But unlike soulmates, you can have many different karma-mates in one life. You can definitely love a karma-mate in numerous lifetimes and to some extent it can be easie
